The challenge
A lack of a transportation sourcing strategy causes freight dollar leakage, such as higher-than-market rates, lack of mode optimization, excess accessorial fees and underutilized container capacity.
Fragmented systems limit real-time order visibility and related decision-making to meet service levels, creating disruptions and adding cost.
Poor network design, redundant DC locations and limited inventory controls can create excessive transportation and warehouse spend.
Customs, duties, trade documentation and compliance complexity can erode service and margin.
Services
Multiple service offerings that help turn diagnostic insights into operating capability.
01
Conduct network strategy analysis to optimize DC footprint and flows, improve inventory flows and controls, and explore opportunities to improve global tax and trade compliance.
02
Provide strategic transportation sourcing across modes (FTL, LTL, rail, ocean) to secure the best rates, capacity and contract terms; explore strategic backhauls and mode optimization opportunities.
03
Optimize your warehouse capacity, layout, design and levels of automation; incorporate a 3PL performance management framework, including gain-share arrangements and vendor KPI scorecards.
04
Develop direct-ship capabilities, MOQ policies, load and container optimization processes and refined customer freight pricing, and conduct cost-to-serve analysis.
05
Perform TMS and WMS diagnostics that gauge integration levels, business rules, process maturity and reporting capabilities, and identify opportunities to leverage AI to maximize value from technology.
06
Perform analysis to optimize your private fleet across the entire lifecycle, including acquisition, repair and maintenance, utilization, routing and disposition.
Industries
Every industry’s logistics operate differently; we bring experience and insights to each vertical our clients compete in.
Bulky, damage-prone freight and costly final-mile delivery.
High-value inventory, short product cycles and tight security.
Seasonal peaks, deep SKU counts and e-commerce returns.
Retailer compliance, OTIF penalties and thin margins.
Store replenishment and omnichannel orders from one network.
Temperature control, traceability and regulatory scrutiny.
Light, cube-heavy loads where utilization drives cost.
Heavy inbound volumes where mode and lane choices add up.

Who we are
Terra Advisory Group brings deep subject matter expertise and years of hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain consulting. We’re backed by our sister companies, American Global Logistics and KCH, so our advice comes from the same best-in-class processes we use to run freight and warehousing every day.
That’s a real advantage for our clients: we know what good looks like when working with a 3PL, where the costs hide, and what it takes to improve.
